BAFTA viewers 'stressed out' after spotting something 'wrong' with Ant and Dec

BAFTA viewers said they were 'stressed out' after clocking something was wrong with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

The Geordie duo, both 47, were at the glitzy bash hoping to pick up a gong for Saturday Night Takeaway.

They ended up losing out on the award to the Masked Singer, but fans were more interested in the way they were sitting.

The childhood pals have a long-standing tradition of appearing with Ant on the left and Dec on the right.

But when fans spotted the presenters in the audience, they were shocked to find they had switched things up.

Taking to Twitter, one said: "Dec and Ant. Wait a minute ….. Ant and Dec are sitting the wrong way round aren’t they?!!! #BAFTA."

Another mused: "Ant & Dec are the wrong way round" while a third declared: "Ant & Dec sitting as Dec & Ant at the #BAFTAAwards is messing with my mind!"

Ant and Dec's show Saturday Night Takeaway was nominated once again alongside Strictly, The Masked Singer UK and Later... with Jools Holland: Jools' 30th Birthday Bash at the BAFTAs.

As cast and crew from dramas, soaps and other TV shows waited to see who the winners were on the night, it was confirmed Masked Singer UK had won the Entertainment Programme trophy for 2023.

Gasps were drawn when the news was revealed with even show host Joel Dommett joking about Strictly always winning "everything" as he accepted the award.

Saturday Night Takeaway was first nominated at the awards in the same category in 2004, while in the previous year Ant and Dec won for I'm A Celebrity.

They also won in 2010 with Britain's Got Talent, but it wasn't until 2014 that SNT was nominated once more - and the boys secured the award.

The Byker Grove stars won again in 2015, 2017 and last year in 2022, while the show was nominated in 2018, 2019 and 2021.

Ant and Dec recently fronted I'm A Celebrity...South Africa, which brought back familiar faces from the Australian jungle.

The spin-off series wrapped on Friday in which Myleene Klass was declared the winner.

She beat off stiff competition from the likes of Fatima Whitbread and Jordan Banjo as they battled it out in the Kruger National Park.

Fans of the show loved seeing the series' stars reunited as they reminisced about their debuts.

However, others wished the pre-recorded show was live, saying they missed being able to vote for their favourite campmates.
