Bad Bunny, Residente, Rauw Alejandro, and Kany García Take PArt In The Final Campaign Event in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rican artists Bad Bunny, Rauw Alejandro, Kanye García and Residente participated in the closing of the campaign of the electoral alliance in Puerto Rico between the Movimiento Victoria Ciudadana (MVC) and the Puerto Rican Independence Party (PIP), and its candidate for governor of the island, Juan Dalmau Ramírez.

With more than 50,000 people gathered for a change in Puerto Rico, the speeches of Bad Bunny and Residente resounded loudly in an unprecedented campaign for residents, who saw how the leading exponents of musicals on the island gathered to try to end the historical bipartisanship that has reigned in the state by the New Progressive Party (NPP) and the Popular Democratic Party (PDP).

In particular, Bad Bunny's words resonated with the public the most. The urban singer spoke of his experiences as a child and young man in the middle of his generation's parties.

"Since I was a little boy, I grew up listening to the old discussion of which one was more evil, the reds or the blues. I am part of the generation that was born in one of the most corrupt administrations the country has ever had. Nobody told me about it, I was born, I grew up and live here, and I lived it. Like many of my generation, I come from a home where they were PNP", began Conejo Malo.

He then referred to the generational change that took place on the island with many students learning and becoming educated, which led many to become aware of the alleged corruption that reigns in Puerto Rico today.

"We are the young people, the adults, the elderly, who are aware that these two parties have done damage to our country. That the NPP and the PDP are not a change, they are not an option. I dream of a Puerto Rico free of all these corrupt people, free of the abusers. I dream of a united Puerto Rico, giving each other f***ing respect... Today I have no party, my party is the people, my party is Puerto Rico, the people," he closed before performing the protest song 'La Velita'.

The main reason for seeking a change is the problems that have affected the island in recent years, such as natural disasters such as Hurricane Maria or problems with the company that distributes electricity, LUMA Energy, that have not been solved by local governments.

As for Kany García, she took the stage and asked to vote for a change before joining Residente to perform together the song 'Hijos del Cañaveral', minutes after Dalmau addressed the audience promising to defeat Jennifer González, the New Progressive Party (NPP) candidate who hopes to replace Pedro R. Pierluisi in the government.
