Bachelorette Charity Lawson had a big hard time in the Big Easy

Welcome to a post-Brayden world in The Bachelorette. The six (!!) remaining bachelors traveled to New Orleans with Charity Lawson to take in the Big Easy in all its glory. This week’s dates were important as Bachelorette Charity was narrowing down the field to find out whose hometowns she’d be visiting along her journey.

The sextuplet of men left in the running for her heart seems to be made up of pretty good guys, which is great for her, but not as great for the drama. But worry not, there was still more than enough to talk about this week.

Tanner and Sean — neither of whom have had a one-on-one to this point — were picked for the always awkward 2-on-1 date. The ever-lovely Captain Tom took the trio on the bayou for a crawfish boil, but Charity didn’t feel like she could make a choice by the end of the date.

So the 2-on-1 became a four-person group date with Xavier and Aaron B., the latter of which spent the entire episode irate that he wasn’t chosen for a one-on-one in his hometown.

Sean tried to swing things in his favor with a visit to Charity’s hotel room, but that turned into him being sent home. The final 2-on-1 between Tanner and Xavier never even came to fruition as she visited the former in his room and ended his journey for love.

Next week is hometown visits, but first let’s get to contenders, pretenders and more.

Contenders

ABC/Craig Sjodin

Joey – Everyone’s favorite Hawaiian tennis pro had the first solo date as the couple went sightseeing in New Orleans. They seem compatible and have good chemistry. No notes!

Dotun – Bold choice to make a date run a 5K on no notice, but they had fun with it. Dotun is so charming and sweet and tall. We love Dotun.

Work Left to Do

ABC/Ricky Middlesworth

Xavier – I really like Xavier! He just laid it all out on the line with some brutal honesty about how he’s terrified of committing to one person for the rest of his life. He was very real with it — his fear is more messing up a decision he wants to make once — but it’s definitely something that gave Charity pause in this process.

Captain Tom – This man is a delight. Protect him at all costs. Still has work left to do as he’s not really a contestant.

Pretenders

ABC/Ricky Middlesworth

Tanner – A victim of not enough time. Tanner seems lovely, just didn’t break through enough out of the crowd.

Power Rankings

5. Xavier

4. Captain Tom

3. Aaron B.

2. Joey

1. Dotun
