Baby with 'crazy' hair compared to dandelion - but her mum never wants it to go 'normal'

Just when you think babies could not get any cuter, along comes four-month-old Arla. This little darling has the most amazingly wild hair for someone so young, and her delighted mum has been sharing photos of her online.

Aliyah Lewis, 24, from Barry Island, Wales, is tickled pink with her daughter's unruly locks. Everyone has a bad hair day, but Arla has one every day, and she is even more adorable for it. Since posting videos and photos of Arla's hair online, thousands of fans have been following her 'hair drama'.

Some fans have compared Arla's hair to a dandelion, and you can see where they are coming from when you see her locks, as they seem to have a mind of their own. Aliyah's attempts to brush her daughter's hair pretty much amounts to nothing as it always does its own thing anyway, sticking up and pointing outwards.

Pig-tails, pony-tails, Aliyah has tried them all on Arla - with little success. The mum said: "Arla was born with a lot or hair, it didn't start standing up crazy until her first bath, everyone thinks it's crazy and they love it, we never want it to go 'normal'."

"Even if I try and brush it, it will just stick up. But I brush it everyday, sometimes I put a bow in sometimes but she doesn’t like it and sometimes a bobble, but if she has it up she looks like an onion, so we just put a headband on, or let it go wild.

"We just use Johnson's Baby Shampoo and just wash it like normal, but we don’t use any conditioner on it."

The mum is delighted that others love her daughter's hair too, as she says: "People always stop us and comment on her hair! Everyone always loves it. Everyone is always so kind."

Arla has been compared to a dandelion and even physicist Albert Einstein.

While there has always been a myth that heartburn during pregnancy could lead to a headful of hair, this is the case that could prove it to be true after all. Aliyah suffered from uncomfortable heartburn during her pregnancy, but never did she think her little one would arrive into the world with long locks that stick out.

The possible reasons behind her baby's wild hair are unknown but Aliyah is waiting for news from her doctors.

"It could just be crazy hair, it could be uncomfortable hair syndrome, or it could be a milk allergy. We're in the middle of trying to get an answer. It's definitely not in any family so far so I think it's just random."

However, she would not have it any other way, even the discomfort of heartburn: "I had heartburn when I was pregnant which would wake me up in the night but I thought it was normal. I hoped the heartburn wasn't for nothing and it obviously wasn't!"
