Baby name whizz shares rare names from 1920s she predicts will make a comeback

Each year we see how certain names are rising and falling in popularity with parents, with names like Olivia, Oliver, Noah and Amelia ranking in the top for boys and girls.

Some people have no issue picking a name that is top of all the baby name lists, but other mums and dads might prefer to go for something a little more original.

If you don't want to spend hours trolling through baby name lists and books, then you're in luck as there are now various accounts on social media sharing unique monikers at the touch of a button.

One of the best around is on TikTok with the username @hellomorgantimm, which is run by Morgan Kline.

Morgan, who lives in the US, has always had a "special interest" in baby names and collects vintage yearbooks.

In a series of videos, Morgan shares quirky and rare names from within the pages of the yearbooks which she predicts could one day make a comeback.

A recent clip, which garnered over 21,000 views, saw her discuss 1920s names for babies, which she feels would be loved by parents today.

From 1922, she started with the name Dorothea, which she believes will have the " Taylor Swift effect" as it was the name of a song on the star's recent Evermore album.

Theo and Ollie were also possible contenders for girls' names that could make a comeback, as they were 'cutesy' and 'gender-neutral' sounding.

Other names on the list included Lou, Althea, Birdie, Golda, Lovie and Blossom.

For the boys, Morgan picked names from a 1929 yearbook from Galesburg and these included Clifford, Arthur, Howard, Mack, Forrest, Eldon, Evertt, Percy, Von, Leon and Dale.

People in the comments loved the videos, with many thanking her for sharing them.

One person said: "I'm a writer and every time I need a character name I come straight to your page. Love it!"

"Thanks. I have been on the hunt for a good boy name," proclaimed another.

A third replied: "I definitely romanticise all these cutesy names, but I have a hard time picturing these cute baby names as an adult in a professional setting!"

Morgan later shared an update on how Harry Potter actress Scarlett Byrne had recently chosen to name her baby Blossom. So looks like her predictions could come true! We'll be sure to keep an eye on the other names on the list...
