Baby girl less than a day old when she died at home in Newark

A baby girl died at home in Nottinghamshire when she was less than a day old, an inquest has heard. Rosie Beall-Pickering died at a property in Newark on January 21.

Opening an inquest into her death at Nottingham Council House on Friday, August 5, assistant coroner Fiona Gingell said Rosie was born on Friday, January 21 and died on the same date. "Given the information currently available there is reason to suspect that Rosie's death was unnatural and it is my statutory duty to open an inquest into her death," she said.

"I'd like to take the opportunity to express my sincere condolences to Rosie's family in relation to their loss." The inquest hearing will be held on a date yet to be fixed.
