A bank holiday weekend is often a favourite time for Brits to get DIY jobs done around the house. And, with a special four-day weekend looming to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, this year's spring summer bank holiday offers more time than ever.
Below are the opening times for the big stores on the bank holidays, which fall this year on Thursday, June 1, and Friday, June 3. Saturday and Sunday will generally be normal opening hours.
Homebase
Most Homebase outlets will operate normal bank holiday hours, with the DIY chain set to open their doors from 9am until 6pm, but this will depend on the store. Check here to find your branch's official times, reports the Mirror.
B&Q
Shoppers can visit their local B&Q between 8am to 8pm on the bank holidays. These times are for larger branches, but to be absolutely sure you can visit, reference the brand's store finder which will display times for your nearest store.
Wickes
If Wickes follow its usual bank holiday opening times, there should be no change in when stores are open. Typically, outlets welcome customers from 7am until 8pm, but these could change depending on location, which you can check here.
Screwfix
Screwfix's normal opening hours Monday to Friday are 7am to 8pm at most locations, while on Saturday the doors usually shut at 6pm, then 4pm on Sundays. This pattern is set to continue and can be confirmed here.
Toolstation
Opening every weekday at 7am and closing at 8pm, the bank holiday will see many outlets close an hour earlier than usual on the Thursday and Friday bank holidays. Click here to find out your local branch's opening hours.
