With sub-zero temperatures, central heating on, and no chance of opening the windows, condensation and mould can quickly develop in homes.
Mould can be a health hazard for older people and younger children so making sure it is gone is vitally important. But forking out for a dehumidifier is out of the question for many people, especially in the run-up to Christmas. However, B&Q shoppers have now found an affordable product, and it costs £10.

The UniBond Aero 360 Pure Moisture Absorber Dehumidifier is being raved by customers for getting rid of mould in their homes, as reported in Birmingham Live. The product features a 360° air circulation block absorbs moisture to create a comfortable indoor climate and prevent common damp problems such as condensation, mould, and musty smells. It also has refillable tabs that you can swap out at any time.
And shoppers have praised the item on B&Q and Robert Dyas where you can pick it up for a few pennies cheaper. One customer said: "I bought this last week as my windows seem to now have constant condensation since the temperature has dropped. It started to work within 12 hours and now my windows are clear of water puddles and condensation. I was so dubious to use this due to the cheap price tag and it being a simple mechanism but it really does work.
"I have ordered another one and the lavender refill tablets as this will now be a permanent fixture in my flat until the winter months pass. Definitely worth the money!"
A second said: "Our building is an old build, with thick walls and poor ventilation. The steam produced from any use of hot water has nowhere to go, so when we first moved in, black mould was rampant. Once we started using this, it really helped reduce that problem. Had it years now, and it's still going, so well built."
And a third said: "Living in an old house that gets so damp but this has literally got rid of the mould!"
