B&M shoppers praise return of 90s 'nostalgic' childhood candy

B&M shoppers have rushed to praise the return of a Cadbury's candy product that was a favourite among those who grew up in the 90s.

One customer spotted that the bargain retailer now stocks Cadbury Astros for just over £1. The sweet, which debuted in 1997, consists of thick balls of crunchy biscuit coated with chocolate.

Many people who were a child in the late 90s and early 00s will likely have fond memories of eating the candy. They have since been discontinued, which is why their appearance at B&M has delighted shoppers.

The customer who spotted the £1.29 sweet was quick to share the news online. Writing in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, they said: "Guess what I came across in B&M today, I was like a big kid. Childhood nostalgia.

"Wrong label on shelf but scanned at £1.00 a box which is 40g. Not sure who remembers these from the 90s."

Before long, the post had received more than 1,000 likes and over 700 comments. B&M shoppers and Astros fans alike were keen to share their thoughts.

One revealed: "I loved these as a kid, I remember when they first came out",

A second posted: "Oh my god just looking at this picture i can taste and feel the texture of them. Absolutely need to go get some."

A third shared: "I used to spend my bus money on these and have to walk home from high school. I loved them so much."
