B&M shoppers find unbelievable bargains thanks to store’s app

B&M shoppers have praised the store’s app for helping them to save hundreds of pounds. The bargain store is filled with goodies, whether you need food, cleaning products or a new vase, and has become a popular high-street staple.

The prices for items in B&M are often lower than you’d find in other stores and it’s usually the place to be when you need handy homeware dupes. But now, shoppers have been using a feature of the store’s app to find hidden, unbelievable bargains.

The scanner feature within the B&M Stores app allows customers to check the prices on items before they reach the till, and many have found some hidden gems along the way. More often than not, it's the seasonal items that are no longer needed that show big discounts, but don’t count everything out.

Holly Jay-Smith, This Morning’s professional bargain hunter and coupon queen, has spoken in the past about how she has saved hundreds of pounds using scanner apps. She brought home a LOL Surprise game that was supposed to be £10 for just £1.

Other bargain hunters in Holly’s Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, have shown off hauls where they saved hundreds of pounds, too. One shopper shared a haul for redecorating her daughter’s room that included £349 worth of goods for just £150.

It included a £35 faux suede stool that scanned through the app as £12, a small chest of drawers down from £35 to £17 and a £35 toy box for £18.

One customer reported that a whole shelf of bedding, usually retailing at £18, was scanning for £1. Another shopper lucked out when the viral Lay-Z-Spa hot tub, which usually retails for £499, was scanning for £100.

Shoppers also say that if the scanner shows an item as unavailable or says that the number has not been recognised, then this is when you’ve hit the jackpot. “Take it to the till and you’ll regularly find that things are £1 or even just 10p,” says one.
