B&M shoppers divided over 'expensive' new Cadbury chocolate bar

Chocaholics are extremely excited to try a "scrumptious" new Cadbury chocolate bar that has landed in B&M - but some have taken issue with its price tag.

The high-street retailer known for stocking unique tasting snacks, including a range of Cadbury product you can't get anywhere else. While it is known for its lower prices, the retailer's latest addition has not gone down well with some shoppers.

B&M took to its Instagram account to announce it is now stocking the special-edition Boysenberry Ripple flavour Cadbury Chocolate bar which has been imported all the way from Australia.

Priced at £2.99 for a 180g bar, the new chocolate is made with the classic Dairy Milk and Dream white chocolate and filled with blended boysenberry flavour jelly and vanilla flavoured creme.

The retailer captioned its snap to its 1.5 million followers and wrote: "Another brand new chocolate bar has jetted into B&M all the way from Australia!

"We've been hearing AMAZING things about this new #BoysenberryRipple bar; milk chocolate AND dream chocolate AND boysenberry jelly AND vanilla creme... need we say more?! Thanks to @new.foodfindsuk for the snap! LIKE if you fancy giving this a try?!"

The snap quickly gained attention from shoppers, with some of them arguing over whether the price tag was too expensive for a chocolate bar.

"They all look gorgeous but a bit pricey at £2.99 a bar", argued one.

"No sorry not at £2.99 a tad expensive", agreed a second.

"Trouble is they are super expensive slovenly but expensive x", wrote a third.

However, some other shoppers were quick to defend the chocolate snack's price as "fair" considering it had been imported from the other side of the world.

"I get you, but it is a decent price to say they've come from Australia to be fair", retaliated one shopper.

"These are Australian imports you’ll be lucky to find them cheaper anywhere else", defended a second.

While some argued over the price, the special-edition chocolate bar did attract quite a few fans who were willing to try it out, as one wrote: "WOW!! Sounds scrumptious!"

You can pick up the Boysenberry Ripple Cadbury chocolate bar in B&M stores for £2.99.

B&M have been contacted for comment.
