B&M shoppers divided over Cadbury's new £1 chocolate bar

Chocolate lovers in the UK are divided over the revelation of Cadbury's strange new tropical bar.

It was announced that the confectionary giant has released a new Dairy Milk chocolate bar with a 'tropical pineapple' flavour. The 180g chocolate bar contains classic 'Dairy Milk milk chocolate with flowing tropical pineapple flavoured centre.'

The summery snack will be on sale in B&M stores across the country and seems to have left fans divided on whether they love it or hate it. Posting on its Facebook page, the bargain retailer said: "You know it's summer when even chocolate bars get fruity! This NEW offering from Cadbury has flown into store now - and begs the question; Pineapple on chocolate - yes or no!?"

Responding to the news on the Snack News & Reviews Facebook page, Dylan Bettle said: "I haven't had it on pizza but I'd have pineapple in chocolate," while Benny Dowse wrote: "That sounds lush." Karren Whittinghsam seemed fond of the new confectionary and wrote: "Oh my...in need of this muchly...mighty fine scran," while Gail Mellor exclaimed: "Omg I would love this."

However, not everyone seemed keen on the fruity chocolate, with Amanda Davies writing: "I love any sort of chocolate. But I don't fancy this! This is a first for me to refuse chocolate," while Janet Sayle wrote: "Stop messing with chocolate!!!"

Some users also took the opportunity to point out their distaste with how Cadbury's prices its novelty chocolate bars. Adam Meaney wrote: "Problem is they're usually at an extortionate price," while Cherrelle Douglas wrote: "This sounds nice but is it worth the price."

The tropical pineapple Dairy Milk bar will reportedly be on sale in B&M for £1 per 180g bar. Since the Birmingham-based chocolate manufacturer was taken over by US company Kraft in 2010, it has received a wave of criticism for producing gimmick-like flavours as part of its range of beloved chocolate bars.
