A new B&M furniture range could save shoppers £113 compared with similar items from IKEA, according to the budget retailer.
B&M stores are known and loved across Liverpool and beyond for their cut-price range of groceries, toys, homeware, gardening and beauty products. The retailer has now launched a new furniture range featuring items including bedside drawers and a shelving unit.
The products look very similar to IKEA items, and B&M claims its range will save customers £113 in total.

B&M said: "Finding the perfect furniture for your home shouldn’t have to cost you a small fortune. That’s why you’ll be pleased to hear that everyone’s favourite discount retailer, B&M, has a wide variety of home furniture available in-store for bargain prices."
IKEA's GLADOM black tray table is a bestseller, and retails at £19, but a B&M dupe comes in at £10. Similarly, IKEA's HEMNES chest of two drawers is currently on sale at £85, while a very similar-looking item from B&M is being sold for £40.
Other switches could see shoppers save by opting for B&M's Lokken bedside unit (£15) instead of IKEA's VIHAL bedside table (£20), and by choosing B&M's Lokken eight cube shelving unit (£50) over IKEA's KALLAX shelving unit (£65).
B&M also said "Four IKEA boxes would need to be bought in addition to the furniture. B&M version comes with four boxes included in £50 cost".
An IKEA spokesperson said, “When developing and designing all products, we use a process unique to IKEA called Democratic Design. It consists of five dimensions; function, form, quality, sustainability and low price – prerequisites that all our products must meet to be introduced to the range.
“The form is for beauty, it is what attracts the eye, and the object has to be functional, to ensure it is a loved piece. When objects and materials last over time, that is quality. Sustainability is about using more sustainable materials, for example, only using FSC certified wood, and using them sparingly. It is also ensuring responsibility for the entire product journey, from how we source materials, to the people working in our value chain, all the way through reaching our customers homes.
“And then of course, all products should have a price that is so low, that as many people as possible are able to afford them. It has never been about compromise in choosing one or the other, we must achieve all five dimensions. That is how we achieve our vision to create a better everyday life for the many. This remains our focus today and in the future.”
