B&M shopper shares 'clever' product to keep dogs cool but others aren't a fan

A B&M shopper spotted a product intended to help dogs keep cool in their cage, and they posted it to Facebook — where users were divided in their assessment.

The budget giant now sells Clip On Crate Fans for £6 that attach to pets' crates and are intended to help ensure the animals don't get too hot.

With the summer rapidly approaching, one customer picked the item up and was very happy with the results.

Taking to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, they wrote: "Don’t know if people have posted this! Picked this up for my doggo who likes to sleep in his cage. It’s great worth the price and is battery operated."

Before long, the post had attracted more than 1,300 likes and nearly 2,000 comments from fellow consumers giving their opinion — and there was a range of responses.

One said: "Aww my dog would love one of these for his crate".

A second wrote: "I for one think this is a good idea, if your worried about it being attached to the outside of the crate then use your common sense and attach it to something else that's close enough to the crate, it is only battery powered so not really much damage it can do if its not too close to your dog".

"Definitely need one of these now it's getting warmer," shared a third.

A fourth echoed: "What a cleaver idea, love it".

"Oooh I need to look out for on of these for my dogs push chair in the summer," revealed a fifth.

"That’s a good idea, mine like to sleep in their cages too," a sixth stated.

Some questioned the safety of the product (Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group.)

However, many other Facebook users were not so keen on the £6 product — with some questioning its safety.

One commented: "This gives me the FEAR.. have these been mass tested? A malfunction in a locked cage could be deadly… good idea not worth risking in my mind."

"My puppy would definitely stick her tongue in it," suggested a second.

A third agreed: "Not going to lie my dog would probably try and lick it and loose the tip of their tongue".

Another shared: "My dog would chew it and batteries are extremely dangerous with dogs".
