B&M makes change to website for shoppers as home delivery trial launches

Retailer B&M is a huge hit with UK shoppers who are looking for a bargain, from garden furniture to toys, games and food and drink, the store has plenty of products to choose from. But up until now, customers were only able to browse B&M's online site for products and would have to go into store to make a purchase - but there has recently been a new update to its website.

The company, which opened its first store in the UK back in 1978, has now added a trial home delivery option to its website. It means for the first time, shoppers can purchase a number of items from the comfort of your own home, The Mirror reports.

It's thought that there are now hundreds of products available for delivery direct to your home address and many items including home and outdoor furniture, electricals and camping essentials can now be delivered. Previously, some selected stores offered home delivery on bulky products or large furniture items, but you would have to go into store to have it arranged.

The new update will be a welcome for some customers, who have been eager to purchase the store's bargains online. When visiting the website, any items with an orange van logo next to it will be available for home delivery and you'll be able to add it to your basket.

Any items not available for home delivery will have 'In-Store' only on them and you won't be able to add these to your basket for checkout. It's also worth noting that B&M does charge for home delivery and prices will depend on the size of your order.

Regular delivery which takes 3 to 5 working days costs £3.95, medium delivery also takes 3 to 5 working days and costs £7.95 and large delivery can take slightly longer from 7 working days and is priced at £14.95. Currently deliveries come from five distribution centres B&M already has up and running.

The retailer is trialling the new format, but for now if you want to grab yourself a bargain from the comfort of your own home, you will be able to. B&M doesn’t currently offer delivery to the following places; Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, BFPO, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and the Scottish Islands and Highlands.
