Instrumentalists from Ayrshire played their part in a championship victory for a brass band outfit.
Several members of Brass Sounds Inverclyde hail from the Ayrshire region.
And they were on song when they helped the band to victory in the 4th Section of the Scottish Championships in Perth.
Ayrshire’s contingent was also to the fore when the top instrumentalist award in the section was won by Ayr euphonium player Isaac Parkhill, whose brother Joshua is the band’s conductor.
The band won the prestigious competition in Perth Concert Hall on Sunday, March 13, under the baton of musical director, Joshua Parkhill, coming top of the pile in a strong field of eight bands.
Performing set test-piece Argos, by Stephen Hodel, BSI retained its composure throughout its impressive performance, its first in two years following the disruption brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Further joy came when principal euphonium player, Isaac received his award for best instrumentalist following his sterling contribution to the performance.
The news means BSI has successfully qualified for the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain in Cheltenham in September, for which it will now embark on a fundraising drive.
