Ayrshire drive-in cinema axed due to 'cost of living crisis'

A popular Ayrshire Hallowe'en themed drive-in cinema has been axed this year.

At The Flix at Loudoun Castle in Galston was scrapped due to disappointing ticket sales, with organisers blaming the cost of living crisis.

The event, which launched last year, was set to screen a number of classic films.

Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice, Annabelle: Creation, Hocus Pocus, The Black Phone, Sinister, Casper, The Conjuring and Scream were all set to beam live on the big screen.

A spokesperson for the event said: "Unfortunately, we have had to take the hard decision to cancel our Halloween 2022 event. It seems the cost of living crisis has impacted the interest in our event.

"If you booked a ticket, you will automatically receive a refund within 7-10 working days.

"We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause."
