Ayr United are running the rule over former Bolton midfielder Brandon Comley.
The 26-year-old, an internationalist for the Caribbean island of Montserrat, is currently on trial with the Honest Men.
He impressed in a 3-0 win over Morton during a bounce game today, in which teen striker Fraser Bryden scored a double.
New signing Ben Dempsey was also on target just 24 hours after joining on loan from Charlton Athletic.
Comley has been without a club since leaving English League One side Wanderers in November.
The former QPR youth product had recently been training with Carlisle United.
His career has also taken in spells at Grimsby Town and Colchester.
The powerful midfielder has made 13 appearances for Montserrat, a tiny island with a population of less than 5,000 people.
It comes as Ayr continue to look at options to bolster their squad in the January window following the arrivals of Ryan Gondoh and Ben Dempsey.
Managing director, Graeme Mathie, told the Ayrshire Post: "We are still actively looking to do business this week and would hope to see more arrivals through the door."
