Ayr United star Josh Mullin in no rush to make Livingston return

Josh Mullin wants his future sorted ASAP - because he’s loving life at Somerset.

Ayr’s on-loan Livingston midfielder could be recalled to the Tony Macaroni this month.

But with his contract in West Lothian running out in the summer, Mullin only has eyes for Championship success.

His winner against Hamilton made it six goals in 15 games wearing an Ayr shirt.

And he said: “Hopefully I can keep that up to the end of the season and see where it takes Ayr United.

“There’s a wee bit of chat ongoing in the background about being recalled but I’m leaving that to others.

“All I can do is keep doing what I’m doing here. Everybody wants to play games and that’s what I’m doing.

“I’m under contract at Livi until the end of the season so if they want me back, I’d go there and give it my all.

“But people can see I’m enjoying myself here on the pitch and scoring goals.

“And that’s the most important thing right now. I’m trying not to let it affect me.

"The hope is that we get a solution quickly and everyone can move on from there.”

Mullin’s first-half free-kick settled Saturday's tight affair as Ayr moved second in the table.

And the 30-year-old added: “Coming off the back of two raw defeats, it was all about finding a way to win.

“We maybe weren’t excellent in terms of our football but as a team performance, it was brilliant.

“I’ve been playing in a few positions for the team recently and I’m just delighted to chip in and do a job.

“The target is to hit double figures as quickly as I can.”
