Aidan McAdams admits all that's missing from his good form is the clean sheet he craves.
Ayr United's number one has been inspired between the sticks of late, helping The Honest Men to win some big points.
But perfectionist McAdams insists he wants to put up the shutters and help the team claim its first clean sheet in two months.
He said: "That's what we've been looking for.
"I thought it was going to come at Inverness the other week before they scored their fluke goal.
"Defending starts from the front all the way back to me and we came close that day to the clean sheet we've craved.
"In recent weeks you can see that me playing behind a more settled back four has really helped.
"It has felt that week by week we are getting closer to that clean sheet and once you get one, you hope they all start to come."
McAdams praised the impact of new head coach Lee Bullen in helping to lift the mood around Somerset.
He added: "Clear messaging has been the real difference since the manager has come in.
"When players know their roles there's no excuses when you cross that line on a Saturday.
"I've had good competition for the jersey this season and for me it's a case of doing my best when I'm in the team to stay there.
"That doesn't just go for me - it goes all the way across the pitch.
"We now have a depth in the squad and you see it in training every day.
"You need to bring your 'A' game every day and that's what you want."
Ayr head to Raith Rovers tomorrow looking to notch their third away win on the trot.
Bullen said: "I've a lot of respect for John (McGlynn) and his staff up there and they try to play football the right way.
"Off the back of our result last week, we need to look for the right reaction.
"We're not far away from the consistency we're looking for but we need to be a bit more ruthless."
Ayr will give Andy Murdoch every chance to recover from the calf strain that ruled him out of last week's defeat by Queen of the South while Ben Dempsey is also being monitored for a tight thigh.
