It’s flower season and that can only mean one thing.
Ayr and District Flower Show is back this month with more classes and more entertainment.
Flower power celebrations kick off at Ayr Racecourse on Friday 16 and Saturday, 17 August.
But it’s not just plants and all things gardening as jewellery, artwork, candles, clothes and more join a wide range of trade stands.
And with around 70 stands to browse over the two days, there’s something for everyone.
There are model trains, Meccano and Lego models for the children and the young at heart to see.
Dobbies will host a ‘Little Seedling’ activities, demonstrations, question and answers and a raffle.
And programme buyers are in with the chance of winning a £250 voucher kindly donated by Stewart Travel.
Simply complete the form in your programme and hand it into the Stewart Travel stand.
The lucky winner can use the voucher towards a UK or foreign holiday or weekend break booked through the travel firm.
The winning entry will be drawn after the show.
This year’s chosen charity is Motor Neurone Disease, with some crafters selling their makes to raise money to support the cause.

You’re in luck as the Ayr and District Flower Show team will be at the Grain Exchange with a display until Saturday, August 3 to answer questions, sell tickets and offer advice.
If you are not sure what to enter or want to know how to display your produce, the team will be on hand to help.
The closing date for entries is Tuesday, August 6. Some late entries may be accepted.
