Aymeric Laporte was unavailable for Manchester City's first Premier League game of the season, but that certainly didn't stop him from enjoying the 2-0 win against West Ham.
The centre-back was the only senior member of Guardiola's squad to miss the trip to London on Sunday, as he continues to recover from knee surgery. His absence didn't show though as two goals from Erling Haaland on his Premier League debut earned City a comfortable three points.
Haaland received criticism for his performance in the 3-1 Community Shield loss to Liverpool last weekend, with some questioning how quickly the £51m striker would be able to adapt to English football.

The answer appears to be pretty quickly. The 22-year-old won and scored a first-half penalty to give City the lead, before he showed his incredible pace and efficiency in-front of goal by slotting home a second after half-time.
Laporte was certainly impressed, and took to Twitter to celebrate his new teammate's second goal.
He also quote retweeted a tweet he published in May the day City announced the signing of Haaland, in which he said: 'Happy not to be running after this guy for the next couple years. Welcome Erling.'
At half-time on Sunday he quoted the tweet with: 'Now you understand why, this guy's damn fast.'
Laporte is unlikely to return to action until the beginning of September at the earliest, but he'll no doubt be watching Haaland make his home debut on Saturday when City take on Bournemouth.
