Ayesha Curry practices a 'big purge' twice a year in her and Stephen's home – her method is simple and essential for long-term organization

As we emerge into a new season, one buzzword is sure to get every organizer excited: spring cleaning. This point of the calendar sees homeowners declutter and upgrade their storage systems to ensure their spaces are tidy for the warmer months ahead – and it's an art that's not lost on the likes of Ayesha Curry.

Actress Ayesha, who lives with her husband, Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry, is among those who aren't immune from a spring cleaning checklist. However, her ritual isn't limited to this season.

'I do a big purge twice each year – once in the spring and once right before the kids start school in the fall,' Ayesha shared in an exclusive interview with Homes & Gardens.

We go through clothes and belongings because our kids are growing like weeds, and styles change, so we constantly have to rotate things in and out. We are huge upcycles and love to shop vintage to make it happen. But purging our home is equally as important.'

Ayesha, who has teamed up with Command™ in the past, famously uses their products around the Curry household. However, when it comes to spring cleaning, their Cord Bundlers (available via Amazon) are a stand-out essential.

'I like to go through things like storage containers to get rid of what we don’t need and get the things we do up off the floor. It’s so important to me to keep my electrical cords tidy with Command™ Cord Bundlers for safety, and it just looks neater when all wrapped up,' Ayesha says.

'I also always give special attention to the mudroom to organize the equipment and items for all the kids’ activities so they’re right in reach. I love a good spring clean.'

Preparing for a spring clean means something different to every homeowner, but for Ayesha, this time of the year is a period of renewal – including in the smallest corners.

'Spring is the time of revival. It’s when things start to grow and flourish, and I think the same can be said for our lives. It’s a great time to do a hard reset and plant the seeds now to make sure we can thrive the rest of the year. And this is true of our homes as well. Doing those small organizing tasks and tidying up around the house now helps to prevent chaos later and helps set us up for a stress-free and organized rest of the year,' she says.

To make her small space organization easier, Ayesha turns to Command. 'I feel like I’m not the most practical or logical person in general (laughs), but that’s why working with Command Brand is so exciting. I’ve learned so much about their new products, uses, and what they have in the pipeline,' she notes. You can shop some of our must-haves below.
