Award-winning Atlantic Hotel in Tenby for sale for the first time in 36 years for £2.5m

Many people’s memories of a happy holiday in Tenby involve staying or eating at the Atlantic Hotel.

The 3-star establishment perches on the top of the cliff overlooking the popular seaside town’s Blue Flag awarded South Beach, with panoramic views of the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline filling every window.

The hotel is a Grade II listed building offering 42 ensuite bedrooms and has remained under the ownership of the James family for the past 36 years.

After growing this very successful business the family have taken the decision to sell in order to retire from the sector.

Nicky Rees, daughter of the current owners and general manager of the hotel, says: "Over the past 36 years, we have continuously improved the hotel and its facilities, whilst retaining the character of this beautiful building and its unique gardens.

"However, the time has come for my father to retire and for my brother and myself to explore new opportunities."

Located within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the hotel has been a base for many years for keen walkers and ramblers about to embark on the start of the coastal path nearby.

Just a stroll away from Tenby’s stunning sandy beaches, pretty harbour and meandering town centre streets, the hotel has also featured in the plans for holidaymakers wanting a less energetic holiday.

Inside, the hotel facilities include a health spa featuring a salt water swimming pool, spa bath and steam room. The leisure suite even has heated loungers.

The property also contains a ground floor bar, the Trayles Breakfast Room, the Salt Cellar Restaurant and private car park.

One of the most popular areas for guests at the hotel is the award-winning cliff top gardens.

Sit amongst the terraces of palm trees, cacti and vibrant flowers and drink in the mesmerising, uninterrupted and expansive coastal sea views from this elevated position.

And if a cool drink or lunchtime meal will add to the experience, refreshments are available from the restaurant to enjoy on the patio area of the gardens.

But it’s the premier Ocean Room Suite that is arguably the jewel in this hotel’s crown, carved into the cliffside and designed to be the epitome of luxury.

Every detail has been planned to give the guests to this premium suite the ultimate in relaxing escapes.

The indulgent list includes complimentary champagne and fruit on arrival, emperor size bed, bathrobe and slippers, lounge area with smart TV, complimentary mini bar and a hot tub on its own private, clifftop terrace.

Imagine sipping the free bubbly whilst relaxing in the hot tub bubbles and drinking in the incredible sea views.

There’s even a switch by the bed to open the blinds directly from your pillow.

As the hotel website states, imagine waking up in the most luxurious bed and flicking a switch, James Bond style, to reveal one of the best views in the country.

Tenby is regarded as one of the leading holiday resorts in Wales due to its combination of historic interest, iconic pretty pastel painted harbour properties, St Catherine's Island used as a filming location in popular programme BBC’s Sherlock, and four separate sheltered beaches.

Sporting events held in the town such as Long Course Weekend and Ironman Wales also attract guests to the area from all over the world.
