Award-winning actress Blythe Duff is heading to Irvine for a podcast chat

Best known for her role as Jackie Reid in the cherished STV cop drama Taggart, Blythe Duff will visit Irvine's Harbour Arts Centre to join the host of the Braw and the Brave podcast.

Blythe's incredible career has taken her from Shakespeare to the West End, and her extensive experience as an actor here in Scotland and abroad will make for a fantastic evening of storytelling.

Blythe said: ‘’It’s been a long time since I’ve had the opportunity to be in Ayrshire so I’m really looking forward to being at the Harbour Arts Centre.

“Not only will it bring back lots of lovely memories of my early theatre days, but it’ll give me a chance to sit with Lisa and have a right good catch up in person. See you there.”

The star of the stage and screen will be in town to join Lisa Kennedy, the host of The Braw and The Brave podcast.

A celebration of people and their passions, The Braw and The Brave podcast explores the fascinating journeys of those dedicated to the pursuit of doing what they love most.

In partnership with North Ayrshire Council, Lisa is thrilled to be bringing the podcast to live audiences.

Lisa said: “I’m thrilled to be hosting my fourth The Braw and The Brave in Conversation in collaboration with North Ayrshire Council, and I am delighted it’s with Blythe.

“We met online during the pandemic, so it will be lovely to chat in person and hear all her brilliant stories.

“Blythe is an incredible actor who has had an amazing career to date, and I’m truly honoured to have the opportunity to interview her.”

Councillor Alan Hill, Cabinet Minister for Communities and the Islands, said: “It is wonderful for the Harbour Arts Centre to be welcoming such a well-known and respected actress.

“Most people will, I’m sure, know her from her days on our TV screens as Detective Inspector Jackie Reid. And I am sure she will have many fascinating stories to keep fans entertained on the night.”

The Braw and the Brave in Conversation with Blythe Duff take place on Saturday, April 15, from 7.30pm.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
