Avram Glazer attends Carabao Cup final between Manchester United and Newcastle

Manchester United co-chairman Avram Glazer is in attendance for the club's Carabao Cup final showdown with Newcastle United at Wembley this afternoon.

The American, who, alongside brother Joel, put United up for sale back in November, was pictured taking up his seat in the directors' box alongside United CEO Richard Arnold. His Wembley outing marks just the sixth time he has attended a United game in the past four years, having been in attendance for two Barcelona clashes, home games against Chelsea and Brighton, and a trip to Paris Saint-Germain.

United's supporters, who have travelled to Wembley in their thousands, have vented their anger towards the Glazer family more than ever in recent months, urging them to sell the club. United are currently in the process of possibly being taken over.

Ahead of last week's 'soft deadline' set by The Raine Group, who are selling the club on behalf of the Glazer family, British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani tabled official offers.

Confirming their decision to put the club on the market back in November, a statement issued by the Glazers said: "The strength of Manchester United rests on the passion and loyalty of our global community of 1.1 billion fans and followers. As we seek to continue building on the Club’s history of success, the Board has authorised a thorough evaluation of strategic alternatives.

"We will evaluate all options to ensure that we best serve our fans and that Manchester United maximises the significant growth opportunities available to the Club today and in the future. Throughout this process we will remain fully focused on serving the best interests of our fans, shareholders, and various stakeholders."
