Avon Valley Pumpkin Patch opens today: everything you can expect

October nights are officially spiced up with the return of the Avon Valley Pumpkin Patch today (October 1). The South West’s biggest PYO pumpkin extravaganza is back by popular demand , promising pumpkin picking fun, dazzling lights and spectacular seasonal entertainment.

For those keen to carve a pumpkin that gets people talking, you can pick your own through the massive home grown pumpkin patch at Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park. From today, the pumpkin patch will be open every weekend in October as well as Friday, October 21 and every day during Half Term from October 24 to October 30.

After last year’s sold-out event, visitors are being warned to book early to avoid any disappointment. Tickets for children and adults cost £4.99, and you will also need to pay for any pumpkins you pick as well.

Any pumpkin chosen from the event area is also priced depending on size. Meanwhile, Avon Valley will also be bringing on more thrilling entertainment such as theatrical performers and fire shows- as well as Pumpkin Paintball, Seasonal Slingshot and Fire an Apple Cannon.

A brother and sister duo will also be making an exciting appearance on certain dates to perform classic Irish, Celtic, Country and Americana music. Featuring smooth acoustic guitar, violin and vocal harmonies, they will be joining attendees on the following dates and times:

  • Saturday 1st October 11am-2pm
  • Sunday 2nd October 11am-2pm
  • Sunday 9th October 11am-2pm
  • Saturday 22nd October 11am-1pm
  • Saturday 29th October 11am-1pm
  • Sunday 30th October 11am-1pm

With more attractions to expect that are set to entertain both big and small kids, from a funfair, seasonal treats and to jaw dropping Halloween fashion, visitors can surely anticipate a far from typical day of pumpkin picking.
