Avid flyer reveals how to get row to yourself on plane - but she's urged to keep it secret

While flying off to a new destination is incredibly exciting, the allocated airplane seats can quickly dampen someone's spirits. It may seem that the only solution to a perfect flight is securing a whole row to yourself, which very rarely happens.

However, an avid traveller has shared her insight on how she secures an 'entire row' to herself on an airplane. After booking a flight with Qantas Airways, Chelsea Badger demonstrated the easy method first-hand on popular video-streaming service TikTok.

Chelsea - who boasts more than 240,000 followers on account @chelsbadger - claimed that the nifty hack only works if your 'flight isn't fully booked'.

She explained: "I recently got a whole row to myself on Qantas and this is how I did it.

"Once you get to your gate, you're going to want to wait until it's about ten minutes before boarding.

"Open up the Qantas app, then click the seat selection tool.

"If there's a whole row free or even if there's just a better seat - make a mental note of that seat number.

"You won't be able to select the new seat in the app as it's too close to boarding, so simply go up to the desk and politely ask to have it changed.

"So easy and I can't believe this worked!"

Clarifying her hack further, Chelsea added: "I've done this successfully a few times while flying with Qantas - not saying it works for every airline."

Since posting, the TikToker's insightful advice has surpassed 220,00 views since posting.

Flocking to the comment section, people praised Chelsea for her game-changing technique - with several people claiming to have undergone the flight hack themselves.

One person claimed: "LEGIT DID THIS!"

A second said: "I did this flying home from NT, changed it on app and had boarding pass ready on phone."

Meanwhile, a third wrote: "I've made mental notes of empty rows whilst literally boarding the plane and then just sitting in those seats upon boarding, works every time."

On the other hand, a different person penned: "Shhh keep it secret."

Chelsea replied: "This gal doesn't gate keep."
