Police have confirmed a body has been found during their search for missing Edinburgh woman Averil Shepley.
The 47-year-old was reported missing on September 30 and was last sighted getting into a taxi and heading to South Queensferry.
Officers say that around 2:50pm on Monday, October 17, the body of a woman was found on Cramond Island as part of their ongoing inquiries to locate Averil.

Although no formal identification has taken place, the family of Averil has been informed as officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.
Police had previously said that Averil walked to Minto Street and got into a taxi believed to be travelling to Queensferry Road, near the junction of Queensferry Terrace around 11pm on September 30.
