Available free agent centers for Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals released three players before entering their summer break, leaving vacancies to be filled over the next six weeks.

With the reported visit of former Washington Commanders center Chase Roullier, it is safe to say that a veteran center could be added to the roster.

It is a position long projected to get attention without anything having happened.

Since the Cardinals brought in one center, let’s see who are the available centers in free agency.

Chase Roullier

Since Roullier already visited, yes he is available. He is one of three who have not yet turned 30 years old.

He has started 63 games since being drafted in the sixth round in 2017.

He played in only eight games in 2021 and two in 2022.

Cardinals passing game coordinator and receivers coach Drew Terrell would know him from their time in Washington.

Yeah, no.

He is available but was released by the Cardinals and has retired.

Ben Jones

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Released this offseason by the Titans with a failed physical designation, he has been speculated as an option for the Cardinals for some time. He has been in the league since 2012.

He started for the Titans for the last seven years, where Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort last worked.

He will be 34 this year.

Pat Elflein

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Elflein will turn 29 in July.

He has ties to new offensive coordinator Drw Petzing from their time with the Minnesota Vikings.

Elflein has started 64 games but from 2020-2022, he played in seven, nine and six games.

Justin Britt

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Britt is 32 years old and played the last two seasons for the Houston Texans, where Ossenfort’s friend and mentor, Nick Caserio, is GM.

However, he played in only one game last season and 11 in 2021.

Nick Martin

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Martin is 30 years old and started two games for the Commanders last season. However, he has not been a full-time starter since 2020. He was the Texans’ starting center from 2017-2020.

Matt Skura

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Skura started eight games last season for the Rams. He is age 30.

He has started 73 games in his career, mostly at center and mostly with the Ravens from 2017-2020.
