An Auto Fire broke out in Ventura County on Monday, consuming approximately 56 acres of land. Fortunately, firefighters have managed to stop its forward progress, as reported by the Ventura County Fire Department. Despite their efforts, the blaze remains uncontained, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by emergency responders.
The fire has been contained to the river bottom area of Oxnard, with no immediate threat to structures in the vicinity. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by officials.
Multiple firefighting agencies, including the Ventura County Fire Department, Ventura City Fire Department, Oxnard Fire Department, and personnel from a nearby naval base, are actively involved in combating the blaze. They are working on the ground to extinguish hotspots and prevent any further spread of the fire, according to the county fire department.
The fire was initially reported around 7:14 p.m., as per a California Highway Patrol incident report. Evacuation orders were issued for the affected area, in line with directives from Cal Fire.
This incident occurs against the backdrop of the Storm Prediction Center's recent declaration of an 'extremely critical fire' area, encompassing over 2 million individuals, including residents of Oxnard, Santa Clarita, Thousand Oaks, and Simi Valley.
