Authorities in Florida are actively searching for suspects involved in an armed carjacking incident that tragically resulted in the killing of a woman. The victim, identified as a 31-year-old woman from Homestead, Florida, was found dead inside the burned remains of a white 2017 Dodge Durango, believed to be driven by her.
The carjacking took place just before 6 p.m. in Winter Springs, as captured by a witness at a red light near the intersection of East Lake Drive and Tuskawilla Road. The disturbing video footage shows a man in a black hoodie and mask approaching the SUV with what appears to be a machine gun, while another suspect in a green Acura sedan closely followed. The suspects forcibly entered the vehicle before making a U-turn and fleeing the scene.
Witnesses in Osceola County later reported hearing gunshots and discovering the burned vehicle, believed to be the same Durango involved in the carjacking. The Florida license plate number KVFF22 was associated with the vehicle, which had a 'for sale' sign and a phone number linked to a person in Florida City.
The victim's husband advised her not to stop during the carjacking, indicating that she was in the area to visit family. However, investigators have been unable to locate any family members in the central Florida region. Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma expressed grave concern over the armed suspects, emphasizing that they should be considered dangerous.
The victim, originally from the Dominican Republic and a U.S. citizen, resided in Homestead, Florida, where she and her husband worked at a barbershop and beauty salon.
