A best-selling author recently visited a Lanarkshire primary school to share some tips and chat about her work.
Louie Stowell has penned a number of witty fantasy books for kids, including the Kit the Wizard series and two books about Loki, the Norse god of mischief who in her series of tales is in the body of an 11-year-old boy.
She stopped by St Columbkille's Primary in Rutherglen to chat to youngsters about her work, with new book Loki: A Bad God's Guide To Taking The Blame being released earlier this year.
Pupils in P5 to P7 enjoyed a drawing session along with the author and illustrator as well as a Q and A session and a book signing.
In her newest book Loki is up to mischief again, but when he's accused of stealing Thor's hammer he has to try and find the real culprit and clear his name.
School teacher Stuart Clark organised the visit and told Lanarkshire Live: "Our pupils and staff enjoyed a really lovely afternoon. Louie was so engaging and inspiring. The impact of an author visit is both immediate and long lasting.
"It promotes reading for pleasure across the school and motivates pupils to write and illustrate their own stories."
The visit was held in partnership with Waterstones at the Silverburn shopping centre and the school would like to thank booksellers Clara and David for their enthusiasm and their expertise in setting up the visit.
