Legspinner Georgia Wareham returned to Australia's XI and picked up 3-20 to restrict Bangladesh to 7-107 at the T20 World Cup.
Wareham was in for the first time in nearly 16 months following a protracted injury lay-off.
The 23-year-old was the defending champions' only change in the XI from their victorious opening match against New Zealand.
She replaced left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen on Tuesday as Australia lost the toss and were asked to chase.
The change in personnel for the T20 World Cup holders was understood to be anchored in selection decisions alone and not injury-forced.
Wareham's last international appearance came in October 2021, during the T20I series at home against India.
She suffered an ACL injury later that month during the WBBL, which kept her on the sidelines during a prolonged recovery period followed.
Among Australia's six-pronged attack, Megan Schutt and Ashleigh Gardner picked up one wicket apiece.
Darcie Brown, who had limited the opposition to 2-36 in the powerplay with her wickets of openers Shamima Sultana and Murshida Khatun, finished with 4-0-23-2.
The quick bowler could have claimed her third wicket in captain Nigar Sultana when the right-hander was on 44.
But an airborne Beth Money shelled Sultana's shoulder-high catch while diving to her right at point, off a cut shot off Brown in the 14th over.
Sultana went on to score a well-deserved fifty, having anchored the innings with an array of powerful cuts, in particular.
She was dismissed by Gardner for a 50-ball 57, which included seven fours and a 69-metre six off legspinner Alana King in the 19th over.
A win against Bangladesh would take Australia to the top of the Group 1 table with four points from two games.
