Lakers guard Austin Reaves made a name for himself at the end of the 2022–23 NBA season, and now he’s making headlines for his performances at this year’s FIBA World Cup as well.
Reaves has performed well throughout the tournament, but he struggled during Sunday’s Team USA loss to Lithuania. He shot just one basket during the competition and added five free throws to that. Reaves fouled out of the game after only playing in 13 minutes.
Fans quickly went to social media to roast Reaves’s performance during and after Team USA’s loss. But, Reaves’s brother Spencer was ready to call out any of the haters.
“People really had ‘Austin Reaves sucks’ tweets just waiting in the drafts for a bad game,” Reaves’s older brother said, along with some laughing emojis.

Reaves isn’t going anywhere anytime soon in the basketball world. The guard signed a four-year, $56 million extension with the Lakers in July.
Team USA will play on Tuesday vs. Italy in the quarterfinals.
