Austin Reaves became a hilarious pop punk-inspired meme with his messy hair

Do you have the time to listen to me whine about nothing and everything all at once?

Yes, that is a Green Day lyric. It’s the iconic opening line to the song “Basket Case” and it was released four years before Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves was even born.

But the Lakers lost a close one to the Nuggets on Thursday and after the game, Reaves stepped to the podium for a postgame press conference looking more than ready to quote Green Day.

With his messy hair and a black t-shirt and a slightly dazed look in his eye, he also seemed like he just finished crowd surfing at the Vans Warped Tour.

Reaves finished with a team-high 22 points (8-16 FG, 5-9 3P) and added 3 rebounds and 5 assists.

But despite the impressive performance, many fans may remember this game for the meme that it inspired afterward.
