Bridgerton Season 4 Casts Aussie Actress Yerin Ha As Its Leading Lady & We’re Already Obsessed

Alert the Ton! Bridgerton is about to welcome a fresh face, and this time, she’s bringing a bit of Aussie flair to the ballroom.

Yerin Ha has been announced as the new lead for Season 4, ready to sweep Benedict Bridgerton off his feet. I never thought I’d hear someone say “naurrr” in the Bridgerton universe, but I’m absolutely here for it.

Here’s everything we know about Bridgerton Season 4 newcomer, Yerin Ha:

What’s happening in Bridgerton Season 4?

Season 4 is all about Benedict, the second Bridgerton son, played by Luke Thompson, who’s been too busy painting nudes and having existential crises to settle down.

But fear not, for our reluctant Romeo is about to meet his Juliet, at his mother’s masquerade ball — because where would anyone be without Violet Bridgerton’s impeccable matchmaking skills.

Bridgerton Season 4’s leading lady: Yerin Ha

Yerin Ha, the Korean-Australian actress, is set to play Sophie Baek (formerly Beckett, but please let’s not get hung up on semantics again).

She’s swapping her Aussie accent for a posh one to portray a maid with dreams bigger than Lady Featherington’s wigs.

Her role was announced in true Bridgerton fashion with an incredibly vague video posted on Netflix’s YouTube channel, that kind of gave us nothing other than some Regency-era costumes on a rack and Yerin looking gorgeous AF. Actually, that’s kind of everything.

Yerin’s no stranger to the spotlight, having already made waves in Paramount +‘s Halo and set to appear in HBO’s Dune: Prophecy Now, she’s ready to trade space suits for corsets and alien battles for ballroom dances.

Who is Sophia Baek?

This season will be based off of Julia Quinn‘s third book in the Bridgerton seriesAn Offer From a Gentleman. The story obviously introduces Sophie Baek, who isn’t just any maid, and is actually the daughter of an Earl who has an evil stepmother who has made her into a servant.

Luckily, on one fateful night, Sophia dresses up in a silver dress and dares to crash Lady Bridgerton’s masquerade ball where she dances the night away with her soon to be manz Benedict Bridgerton. It’s like Cinderella, but with more scandal and less singing mice.

Fans are already obsessed with Netflix’s casting!

“Can’t wait to see Yerin Ha bring Sophie to life! Bridgerton Season 4 is shaping up to be incredible, and this new addition is sure to add even more charm and drama to the Ton. Bring on the new season,” said an X user.

Others are super excited about the fact that Yerin will be repping her Korean heritage on the screen.

“Asian-Australian domination! Welcome to the Ton, Sophie and Yerin Ha! Make us Asians/Australians proud, especially me,” said Ellen on X.

Another excited fan said, “Another absolutely perfect Bridgerton casting! Love Yerin as Sophie Baek.”

When can we see Yerin Ha in Bridgerton Season 4?

“We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language,” said the showrunner Jess Brownell per The Hollywood Reporter.

“And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up, but somewhere in that range.”

So, before you start planning your Bridgerton-themed watch party, it looks like Season 4 probably won’t be hitting our screens until 2026.

Yes, you read that right — we won’t be getting our fix of steamy glances and corset top inspo for another two years (unless they hear my cries and pick up the pace)! That’s enough time for Lady Whistledown to publish an entire encyclopedia of scandals.

So, grab your favourite binge-worthy series to tide you over, and maybe start practicing your best Regency-era dance moves.

In the meantime I’m going to go stalk Yerin’s Insta and plan my outfits for the watch party. And for you extra eager fans, here is everything else we know so far about Bridgerton Season 4.
