Aurelien Tchouameni sparks Chelsea transfer frenzy with Man City vs Real Madrid post

Following on from Chelsea's dramatic Champions League quarter final defeat to Real Madrid earlier this month, Los Blancos played out another dramatic Champions League tie on Tuesday night , this time against Manchester City.

City took an early two goal lead before being pegged back by Karim Benzema before half-time. The two sides continued to trade blows in the second-half before settling their first leg tie with a 4-3 final score.

One interested spectator will have been Monaco's Aurélien Tchouaméni, who has been linked with a host of English clubs in recent months, including Chelsea. He reacted to the match on twitter with a cryptic tweet alluding to the quality of football on display at the Etihad on Tuesday night.

He wrote: "Franchement quel plaisir de regarder un match de ce niveau là." Which translates as: "Frankly what a pleasure to watch a match of this level.". He added the UCL hashtag to the tweet to leave fans in no doubt of his admiration for the level of football on display and what he was referring to.

This led to a frenzied response from Chelsea fans, with Twitter user FrankKhalidUK writing: "Join Chelsea & you will be involved in these kind of matches!!!"

Another user, Daniel Regha wrote: "Aurelien pursue a deal with Chelsea (one of the most competitive clubs in the Champions League) & get in on the action; With ur potential, u will likely thrive at Chelsea cos the club nurtures talented players like urself. Hope u make the right decision when opportunity arises."

The phrases 'Tchouameni' and 'Come to Chelsea' were both trending after the tweet and given the reaction of the Chelsea fans it is clear what they think of the 22-year-old Frenchman.

Tchouameni has been an ever present star for Monaco this season, but with the French side's Champions League qualification in the balance this season it could be a big summer for the French international with a host of elite clubs interested in the defensive midfielder.

@CFCTitus added: "Come to Chelsea and play with Reece James"

"Tchouameni and Come to Chelsea trending. It seems the entire fanbase are on their knees." said @delearnee.

While @Samuel13635389 responded: "Tchouameni if chelsea come for you, accept them."
