Audi driver 'intentionally' crashes into motorcyclist in shocking clip

Horrific footage shows the moment an Audi driver appears to intentionally crash into a motorcyclist in South Manchester. Police confirmed the motorist drove towards the motorbike and its rider on purpose on Stockport Road, Levenshulme on Thursday afternoon.

Moments before, officers say the attacked motorcyclist had run down a pedestrian who was crossing the busy main road, the Manchester Evening News reports. The pedestrian was a passenger in a silver Audi A5 which then purposely crashed into the motorcyclist, leaving him with severe injuries.

CCTV footage shows the shocking moment the Audi vehicle mounted the pavement and plunged towards the man on the motorbike. The motorcyclist is seen travelling down Stockport Road before seemingly losing control and falling from the bike outside Lahori Karahi, a Pakistani restaurant.

As the rider tries to get back onto his bike, the Audi appears from nearby Park Groves and turns onto Stockport Road. The vehicle then mounts the pavement at speed and only just misses a pedestrian before colliding with the rider on the motorbike and a wall outside Levenshulme Methodist Church.

Footage shows the motorcyclist sprinting away from the motorist before a passenger climbs out the Audi and begins to chase them. Both of them then return to the scene only seconds later.

Officers who launched an investigation into the case say the Audi driver fled the scene on foot and left his passenger lying injured on the floor. The motorbike rider and the passenger, both 22 were taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries.

Police are still trying to track down the Audi driver and have appealed for any information about the incident which took place at about 1:15pm on January 12. Stockport road was closed off for a few hours after the collision.

Inspector Chris Forrester of GMPs City of Manchester North district said: "There were a number of people at the scene either walking past or in cars this afternoon and we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who may have dash cam or CCTV footage showing the attack.

"This is an unacceptable show of violence and reckless driving, and we need the public’s assistance to help track down the offender and to further understand the circumstances."
