Plaza was notably absent from the Golden Globe Awards, where she was scheduled to be a presenter. Director Brady Corbet, while accepting an award, expressed his support for Plaza and Baena's family.
Plaza and Baena had worked together on projects such as 'Life After Beth,' 'The Little Hours,' 'Cinema Toast,' and 'Spin Me Round.' Baena, in a 2022 interview, praised Plaza's talent and highlighted the joy of collaborating with her.
