Aubrey Plaza made her first public appearance since the death of her husband during Super Bowl LIX on Sunday in an advertisement for Ritz crackers.
The commercial aired just over a month after her filmmaker other half Jeff Baena took his own life at the age of 47 on January 3.
The ad, which was filmed in November 2024, features the actress along with actor Michael Shannon as they arrive at the fictional Ritz Salty Club. The commercial plays off the pair’s notoriously unamused facial expressions and dry personas.
"These are our people," Plaza declares, with Shannon agreeing, "our salty brethren."

Plaza then claims she's the saltiest in the club, to which Shannon replies, "Saltier than me? When I smile, people think it's a glitch."
"Oh, please," responds Plaza. "I'm the human version of Monday," she says before hissing.
Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny then arrives with a massive smile on his face. "Read the sign, buddy!" Shannon shouts as the camera pans to a big red sign that reads, "No smiles allowed.”
Plaza issued a statement last month saying she was “devastated” following Baena’s death. She asked for privacy at the time and has since maintained a low-profile.

Baena was best known for writing and producing indie films such as Life After Beth, The Little Hours and Joshy. He also co-wrote the 2004 comedy I Heart Huckabees.
The notoriously private couple tied the knot after 10 years together in 2021, keeping both their engagement and wedding secret for months.
They collaborated together on projects, with Plaza starring in his flicks The Hours and and Spin Me Round. She is most familar to audiences however in the TV show Parks and Recreation and the Marvel series Agatha All Along.
