Aubameyang told to reject Juventus and Barcelona for shock Premier League transfer from Arsenal

Former Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant has told Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to complete a surprise move to Everton, despite interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The Gabon international looks unlikely to have a future at the Emirates Stadium beyond the January transfer window after having the club captaincy stripped away from him and having not returned to the first-team fold since.

With the news that he could potentially be about to leave north London, a number of clubs have emerged as potential suitors for the former Borussia Dortmund man.

According to reports, Barcelona and Juventus are both preparing offers to sign him before the end of the January transfer window, whilst newly-rich Newcastle United were touted as a potential destination for him earlier on in the month.

Aubameyang also received a lucrative offer from Saudi outfit Al-Nassr, a deal that was apparently rejected by the 32-year-old due to his desire to remain in Europe's top leagues.

Despite that, he has been told to reject all of that interest and instead seal a switch to struggling Everton by Pennant.

Speaking to BestofBets.com, he said: “Although Pierre is a great footballer, something really bad obviously happened at Arsenal - serious enough to strip his of captaincy - and this may work as a deterrent for some clubs.

“But…there will be some teams out there, such as Everton, who require a big name striker to help them. So, that can play in his favour, because he's a big name, and he can score goals.

“So, it might not be a top, top tier team, but middle tier, and he shouldn't find a problem there, regardless of what's gone on at Arsenal, if he comes out saying, ‘I just wanna play, I just want to prove, I want to get back into things,’ they should take him.

“And considering the problems Everton are faced with at the moment, Pierre-Emerick could be just what they need to help them out of relegation fears.”

Should Aubameyang complete a switch to Goodison Park, he would join a club currently in an extremely difficult situation.

The Toffees sit 16th in the Premier League table and just four points clear of the relegation zone - a huge reason behind the decision to sack Rafa Benitez.

Ironically, Aubameyang’s last appearance for Arsenal came against Everton - the Gunners eventually falling to a 2-1 defeat at Goodison Park.
