Attorney General Pam Bondi is set to initiate a comprehensive review of the legal cases brought against former President Donald Trump. This review will encompass both criminal and civil cases, including those pursued by prosecutors in New York who secured victories against Trump in court.
On her first day in office, Bondi plans to issue a series of memos aimed at addressing what she perceives as the 'weaponization' of the Justice Department. One of the key objectives of these memos is to discourage the pursuit of cases driven by personal political motivations rather than legal merit.
As part of her efforts to investigate and potentially reverse legal actions taken during the Biden administration, Bondi will establish a 'Weaponization Working Group.' This group will scrutinize law enforcement activities carried out under the previous administration to identify instances of what Bondi terms 'politicized justice.'

The review will encompass high-profile cases such as those overseen by former special counsel Jack Smith related to Trump's handling of classified information and alleged interference in the 2020 election. Additionally, it will include the hush-money case prosecuted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, which resulted in a conviction, as well as the civil fraud judgment of $454 million obtained by New York Attorney General Letitia James against Trump.
In a separate memo, Bondi will caution career officials within the Justice Department against allowing their personal political beliefs to influence their legal arguments. She emphasizes that any attempts to deviate from the legal positions advocated by the Trump administration may result in disciplinary measures or termination.
