Officers have been given more time to question a man arrested after a man was stabbed in Trafford and left fighting for his life.
A man in his 20 was subjected to an 'unprovoked attack' in alley that runs along Kingsway Park in Davyhulme on Monday, June 19, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
He was rushed to hospital for surgery. He remained in a 'critical but stable condition' on Saturday.

On Thursday, a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was taken into custody for questioning. Police have now been granted additional time to quiz him, the force confirmed.
Officers requested an extension, which was granted by magistrates.
"Officers from Trafford CID have been granted more time continue to question a 22-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Thursday evening (22 June)" a GMP spokesman said.
"This arrest was made in connection with the attempted murder of a man in his twenties, who was subject to an unprovoked attack in an alleyway that runs alongside Kingsway Park, on the evening of Monday 19 June 2023. The victim remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital."
Detectives have now eliminated from their enquiries a 42-year-old man previously arrested in connection with the incident, the force confirmed on Wednesday.
