An attempted murder in Paisley has sparked a huge police investigation.
A man was found with life-threatening injuries in the town's Stock Street at around 9pm on Saturday. The 24-year-old was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
His current medical condition was not disclosed. Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Police Division launched a public appeal on Monday afternoon, confirming that the incident was being treated as attempted murder.
Officers believe the attack was targeted and urge anyone with information to come forward. Information can be passed on anonymously.

Detective Sergeant Jason Buxton said: “I want to reassure the public that this appears to have been a targeted attack however it is vital we find out exactly what happened so we can trace the person responsible. I would urge anyone who saw what happened, who has dashcam footage of the area at the time or who has any information about the attack to get in touch with police.
