A man has been charged with attempted murder over a stabbing in Adelaide's CBD last month, with police linking the arrest to an ongoing investigation into gang violence.
SA Police last night arrested the 19-year-old Kilburn man, who is accused of stabbing a 22-year-old Lightsview man in Clubhouse Lane off Hindley Street.
The victim was found with stab wounds to his chest on nearby Blyth Street about 1am on January 30 and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police yesterday announced a special task force, Operation Meld, had been launched aimed at curbing youth gang violence.
As part of that operation, the 19-year-old man was arrested and charged, and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
Police are continuing to investigate and have asked anyone with information about the stabbing to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Police yesterday also released information about a suspect wanted over an unrelated incident in which a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in Adelaide's south.
The victim was attacked after she was approached by a man at Seaford Meadows, between 2am and 4am on Wednesday morning.
"A 17-year-old girl was approached by a man on a yellow motorcycle at a park off Derrick Street and sexually assaulted," police said.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, between 20 and 30 years of age, with a shaved head and facial stubble.
"He was wearing a white T-shirt, a black zip-up top, jeans and a black cap underneath [a] black motorcycle helmet," police said.
Anyone with information, or who may have seen the motorbike or heard anything in the vicinity of the park, has also been asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
