AMBALA: In a joint operation with Uttar Pradesh Police, the Ambala unit of the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) arrested four men for their alleged involvement in the attack on Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad.
They were from Shahzadpur area in Ambala district on Saturday.
An STF officer said that the accused were identified as Vikas, Prashant, and Lovy, all residents of Rankhandi village in Deoband area of UP and Vikas of Gonder village in Karnal district of Haryana.
The officer said no arms were recovered from the accused and so far, their association with any gang has not been established.
"After being arrested from the Shahzadpur area, all four were handed over to the Deoband's police, as all were wanted in the case of opening fire at Bhim Army chief.
The accused were on a run and our teams jointly worked on the intelligence inputs to arrest them", said an officer of Ambala STF.
Azad was shot at by some assailants in the Deoband area on June 28.
