THIS "atmospheric" region in Scotland has been named one of the "most beautiful" in the world by the prestigious travel magazine Time Out.
The Scottish Highlands was praised for its wild regions and long-distance walking routes that take in the sights and sounds of nature.
The area was named alongside stunning regions around the globe, including Punakha Valley in the mountain kingdom of Bhutan and Kotor Bay in Montenegro.
To help create its list, Time Out asked its extensive list of "globetrotting" travel writers to name some of the "most beautiful" places they've ever been to.

Why the Scottish Highlands is one of the 'most beautiful' places in the world
Discussing the Scottish Highlands, which was the only place in Scotland named on the list, Time Out writer Cassandra Brooklyn said the mountains, valleys and lochs here are "known worldwide for their atmospheric beauty".
She added that many of the most scenic parts of the region can only be reached by foot, making it a paradise for ramblers.
While visiting the Highlands, she opted to check out the West Highland Way, Scotland's first official long-distance walking trail.

Over her seven-day hike, Cassandra and her group hiked 96 miles through "wildflower studded" fields, dense forests and "tiny" towns like the "quaint" lochside village of Kinlochleven.
She also highlighted places just outside the Highlands like Loch Lomond, the largest expanse of fresh water anywhere in the UK.
