Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, if recent reports are to be believed.
Kante has endured an injury-ridden campaign at Stamford Bridge, failing to play since he suffered a hamstring issue against Tottenham Hotspur back in August of last year. During his time on the treatment table, the French international has been heavily linked with a move away from west London, with his contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
Now, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo have reported that Spanish side Atletico are keen on the prospect of signing the former Leicester City star this summer if he doesn't agree a new deal with the Blues. It is claimed that Diego Simeone's side have already reached out to the player's representatives to gauge whether he would be open to making the move to the Spanish capital.

However, it emerged last month that Chelsea plan to extend Kante's future at the club. In fact, football.london understands the two parties have held talks over a new contract and there's growing confidence at Cobham that an agreement will eventually be reached.
In October, Blues boss Graham Potter was quizzed on whether the 31-year-old's growing injury record could affect his contract situation. Potter replied: "No, the most important thing for us and for me is that we help him get fit. That’s the focus.
"He’s got a long road ahead of him, so we’ve got to make sure we get the right plan and recovery for him. And when he’s enjoying his football we can think about those things then."
