Atletico Madrid have been hit with two charges from UEFA after their Champions League quarter-final first leg with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night. Kevin de Bruyne settled the scores for City on the night to take a one-goal advantage to the Wanda Metropolitano next Wednesday night.
With a place in the semi-finals at stake, City were dominant on-field against the Spanish champions. However, they still have work to do in order to progress.
Ahead of that second leg, opponents Atletico have been hit by two UEFA charges after the European governing body started disciplinary proceedings in accordance with their Disciplinary Regulations (DR). Under those regulations, the La Liga giants have been charged for two alleged offences discriminatory behaviour and the throwing of objects.

No timeframe has been set to deal with the alleged incidents or further details in that respect. A short statement from UEFA reads: "The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) will decide on the matter in due course."
City reached their first Champions League showpiece last season and were beaten by Chelsea in Porto. They could meet Premier League title rivals Liverpool if they see off Atletico in the quarter-finals.
